The Open Arms Project aims to help underprivileged and under-resourced students in all aspects of their academic career by making school supplies, academic and mental support, clothing, and books more accessible by involving students of all kinds in raising awareness and community events.
We are a group of rising junior high school students. Having seen the impacts of socio-economic class on public schooling first-hand, we feel a unique incentive to help others who do not have the resources we take for granted.
Although we have a lot planned—and even more things we'd like to achieve— our next step is to get the Open Arms Project started. First and foremost, this means researching, raising awareness, and hopefully getting started on one of our several plans for a clothing, book, and supply drive.
